The collection, processing and germination of native plant species can be extremely difficult.
Especially in sufficient numbers that maintain genetic diversity or provide enough individuals for projects or nurseries.
A person can often take many years to become suitably proficient at this.
If this person then leaves the nursery, for whatever reason, then that knowledge is lost if it is not recorded somewhere.
The other benefit of having the information recorded is that it is easier to share amongst partners, for the benefit of the natural environment.
To collect this information I conducted short interviews with experienced native horticulturalists who had many years experience growing native plants.
Using my experience, I drew up an questionnaire template that I used for each interview. It covered the Collection, Processing, Pre-Germination Treatments and Germination of the seeds (Questions Asked)
